Samsung Dlp Lamp Replacement
How do you tell if a Ballast from a Samsung hl50a650 dlp is bad? The ballast has been removed from the set.?
Replaced the lamp 8 months ago and blew after 1 month, got a second replacement and went out after 7 months. The ballast has been removed from the set, how can you tell if it is bad looking at it?
This one drove me nuts. I'm assuming you took the ballast out. Unless the big cap on the ballast is bulged, it's ok. If it is #BP47-00043A because the power supply #BP44-01002A has bad caps on it also. If you took the ballast out, you have the back off, pull the lamp out and look to see if there's a plastic grate between the lamp fan and lamp THAT'S PLUGGED UP. stupid design causing the lamps to prematurely fail because the fan can't cool the bulb properly. I take canned air and blow it off but vacuuming it does the same thing.
