Lampe Berger – what is it?
Lampe Berger is a company based in France that manufactures a home fragrance system. The fragrance lamps combine the pleasures of rich fragrances with a tradition of a 100 year old concept of air purification. These Lampe Berger Fragrance lamps were invented by a French pharmaceutical chemist called Maurice Berger in Paris way back in 1898. They were developed initially to purify the air in hospitals and mortuaries then latterly they entered the domestic market for homes and home fragrances. Lampe Berger then made trade relationships with fancy glass bottle makers of the era such as Lalique, Baccarat and famous Limoges manufacturing houses.

The Lampe Berger fragrance lamp removes odours in the home, workplace etc, it kills bacteria and fragrances the air – making a pleasant environment in the home.
The Lampe Berger Fragrance system is capable of destroying a whole range of odours and smells at the micro molecular level, for instance it can destroy: Cigarette smoke, cooking smells, fish, curry, etc, pet odours, paint fumes & many other forms of household pollution.
How simple is it to operate a Lampe Berger Fragrance Lampe?
The Lampe Berger comes with easy to use instructions and is safe to use. Just add fragrance to the fragrance lampe – they provide a funnel to use – makes it very simple, then insert the wick/burner in to the top of the fragrance lamp and allow the wick to soak for at least 20 minutes, this is so that you get the stone wet with fuel/fragrance. Light the burner using a lighter or a match and allow the flame to burn for two minutes and then blow the flame out. Sometimes it is difficult to remember how long two minutes it – Basically when the flame drops to about 2cm tall – the operating temperature in the stone is correct and this is the time to blow it out – Then place the crown over the stone and allow it to fragrance for 30 minutes maximum. To stop the fragrance process, simply cap off the stone.
