Lamp Halogen 20w 12v
I didn't turn off my halogen light bulb (20W, 12V)last nite. It was on for 6 hours and it was burned out. Why?
Ok sorry I was running out of letters 
. but yeah I fell asleep last night without meaning to and my halogen bulb was still on. When I woke up, (6 hours later), It wasn't on and I tried to turn it on and it didn't work. I don't see anything wrong with the bulb; I looked up a picture of the same model and it looks exactly the same, no cracked quartz/glass, no broken filament, nothing. I have no idea what happened and when I plugged another new halogen bulb of the same model it worked. So there's nothing wrong with the lamp. Just with the bulb but I have no idea what it is so please help!! squeak
THE BULB IS BURNED OUT Should I say it again slowly. You are answering yourself in your question.
What I think is frustrating you is that it burned out so quickly "in your opinion". Am I getting that right?
You said you left it on in your sleep are you sure you didn't knock into the light in your sleep? A bulb when on is very fragile and easily broken. Also my experience with halogen bulbs (under the counter lights) don't do well when left on for LONG periods at a time. They tend to burn HOT.
